The Health Check

Independent Business Review (IBR)

Just as a GP provides an independent, objective assessment of a patient's health, our experts provide an honest, thorough review of your business's financial and operational condition. Our Independent Business Reviews (IBRs) are commissioned by business owners, directors, lenders, and investors who need a clear-eyed assessment โ€” free from internal bias.

An IBR gives all stakeholders confidence that the picture they are being presented with is accurate. We assess the viability of the business model, stress-test the financials, and provide a clear report with findings and recommendations.

  • Independent Business Reviews for lenders, investors and boards
  • Financial performance and profitability analysis
  • Cash flow forecasting and stress testing
  • Working capital and liquidity assessment
  • Early warning health assessments for proactive management
  • Management information review and board reporting

The Surgery

Restructuring & Insolvency

The Surgery is for businesses that are insolvent or at serious risk of becoming insolvent. This is where the most critical decisions are made โ€” and where the quality and experience of your advisor matters most. Our licensed insolvency practitioners have handled some of Ireland's most complex corporate insolvency cases and will give you an honest, clear-eyed assessment of your options from day one.

The first question we ask is simple: can this business be saved? If the answer is yes โ€” if there is a viable core worth protecting โ€” we will pursue every available legal mechanism to save it. In Ireland, that means Examinership for larger businesses or SCARP (the Small Company Administrative Rescue Process) for smaller companies. Both provide a chance for company's who have a reasonable prospect of survival to be saved through a formal restructuring.

If the business cannot be saved, we manage an orderly wind-down with professionalism and discretion โ€” whether through a Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation or a High Court liquidation. In every case, we act to protect directors, maximise returns to creditors, and bring the process to a conclusion as efficiently as possible.

  • SCARP
  • Examinership
  • Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation (CVL)
  • High Court Liquidation
  • Receivership and Fixed Charge Receivership
  • Director advisory on duties, obligations, and personal exposure

Irish Insolvency Processes Explained

๐Ÿฅ
SCARP

The Small Company Administrative Rescue Process โ€” a faster, lower-cost rescue mechanism for small companies. Allows a viable business to restructure its debts and survive without the full cost of Examinership.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ
Examinership

Court protection for larger viable businesses with a reasonable prospect of survival. Prevents creditor enforcement for up to 100 days while a rescue scheme is formulated and approved.

๐Ÿ“„
Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation

An orderly, director-initiated wind-down of an insolvent company โ€” maximising returns to creditors and providing certainty and closure for directors.

โš–๏ธ
High Court Liquidation

A court-supervised winding up of a company, typically where creditors or the company itself petitions the court. We act as liquidators or advise directors through the process.

When is forensic accounting needed?

๐Ÿšจ
Suspected fraud or theft

Unexplained financial discrepancies, missing funds, or unusual transactions that require rigorous independent investigation.

โš–๏ธ
Commercial litigation

Financial disputes requiring expert analysis and a court-ready report that will withstand cross-examination.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ
Shareholder disputes

Where one party alleges mismanagement, breach of fiduciary duty, or misappropriation of company funds or assets.

๐Ÿ’”
Matrimonial & family law

Independent financial analysis of business assets and income for family law proceedings, where full disclosure is disputed.
